The Executive Board of the Netherlands Police Academy has suspended an employee. The reason for this was a violent incident, in the employee’s free time, in the province of Gelderland on Wednesday 4 March. The police will interview the employee as a suspect.

The Police Academy expects its employees to act ethically and within the law, whether on duty or off duty. This is a case of possible dereliction of duty. The Netherlands Police Academy’s Security, Integrity, and Complaints Department (VIK) will launch an investigation into the case.
